5 Ways to Monetise Your Blog
1. Google Adsense
Google Adsense is probably the easiest way to add a source of income to your blog. All you need to do is sign up for a Google Adsense account, copy the banner Ad html code and paste it into areas on your blog where you want to see the Ad displayed.
You will get paid based on a combination of impressions (how many times the Ad is seen by your audience) and clicks (how many times the banner Ad is clicked).
2. Find sponsors and sell banner space on your blog
Similar to Google Adsense you put banners on your blog but instead of getting paid per impression or per click you get paid a monthly or yearly fee from a sponsor who will pay you for banner space on your blog.
This can be quite difficult if you are just starting as these sponsors generally want to see high traffic volumes and get a return on their investment. You will need to track how many people visit your site and produce a report to potential sponsors.
3. Sell Brand Merchandise
Think for a second, have you ever worn custom branded merchandise from a community that you love? A community you are happy to support because they have provided a lot of value to you and you want to proudly represent them or feel apart of that community?
Well, branded merchandise is a great way to give that same satisfaction you feel to your community and fans.
I decided to create my own merchandise, B E S T x L Y F E because it reminds me to live my best life each and every single day. (Coming Soon)
4. Promote affiliate products
Affiliate products is one of my favourite of the 5 ways to monetise your blog. There are many people and companies who have created products who are willing to share the profit with you if you help them make a sale.
How this works is, you will sign up to become an “affiliate” of the product and they will then provide you with a trackable link specific to you. When people click on this link, it will track that link back to you and any sales generated from your link you will get paid a percentage of commission for.
There are bloggers who make $100,000 or even millions every year from affiliate marketing alone.
5. Create and Sell your own information product
Last on this list, but certainly not least, create and sell your own information product. This will probably take the most time out of all of the options i’ve listed but can also be the most rewarding.
There are so many information products on the market that teach other people how to solve a particular issue. People will pay for this information because they would rather learn from someone who has done it than try to figure it out themselves.
A good example would be a personal trainer creating a workout and diet guide to lose weight and get a toned body that works time and time again.
Blogging still takes a lot of hard work and patience.
Don’t expect to make millions from day one. Aim to make your first $1 dollar and expand from there. Break down your income goals into smaller goals that you believe you can achieve.
Pro Tip: Double $1 dollar 20 times and it will give you $1,048,576
